A surprise meeting over lunch in Lake Tahoe set the stage for an extraordinary partnership between Kathy Dotzler of Outpost Winery and the Ceres Community Project. Kathy had created a wine in memory of her mother who died from cancer. She wanted the wine to benefit others struggling with the disease, but she wasn’t quite sure how to make that happen.
Sitting at a friend’s home in Tahoe last summer, she heard Ceres board member Rick Goldberg talk about the volunteer work he was doing with teens in the Ceres kitchen – and the nourishment that Ceres’ clients were receiving through the delivery of meals and the community of support we provide. Everything clicked and Kathy knew she had found her partner.
This fabulous chardonnay was created under the direction of Outpost Winery’s award wining winemaker Thomas River Brown. Each bottle, presented in a gold net bag, is being given away by Kathy with a card encouraging people to donate to the Ceres Community Project to help fund our work. If you would like to order a bottle, or send one as a gift to a friend, please contact Outpost Winery at info@outpostwines.com. The wine will be sent directly from Outpost and will include a beautiful note sharing Kathy’s story and the work that Ceres is doing along with a donation card.
We want to express our gratitude to Kathy and Frank Dotzler, and to the whole team at Outpost, for giving with their hearts to support the Ceres Community Project’s work and clients.
We hope you will join them.
